Just two weeks ago, I shared the story of a family whose lives were transformed through years of support from The Village of Hope Romania.
You may remember them—a mother, a father, and six children living together in a tiny one-room home. Life was difficult. Every day was a struggle. Yet through faithful support, food assistance, medical care, education, and Summer Camp, that family slowly found stability and hope.
Today, the oldest children have graduated and entered the workforce. The younger children are thriving in school. What was once a family struggling to survive has become a family looking confidently toward the future.
That transformation didn’t happen overnight. It happened because caring people like you invested in their lives year after year. And right now, another generation of children is beginning that same journey.
Summer Camp 2026 is underway. Since the end of June, children have been arriving each week filled with excitement, nervousness, and hope. For many, camp is the safest and happiest place they will experience all year.
Over these four weeks, nearly 140 children will participate in activities designed to build confidence, encourage friendships, strengthen their faith, and remind them that their future is not limited by their circumstances.
We are already seeing shy children come out of their shells, new friendships being formed, and smiles replacing fear and uncertainty. This is why Summer Camp matters. It isn’t simply a week away from home. It’s a chance for a child to believe in themselves. It’s a chance to discover new gifts and talents. It’s a chance to dream.
