Summer Camp Is In Full Swing!

I am thrilled to share that Summer Camp is in full swing at The Village of Hope! Our first 7-day camp kicked off on July 1st, and the children and staff are so happy and excited. This year, we have divided the camp into two age groups: one for the younger children ages 3 to 7, and another for the older children ages 8 to 13.
The children are already making wonderful memories, and the atmosphere is filled with joy and laughter. We are especially pleased to have students from the local university joining us again this year.
These students, who are studying child development, are participating as part of their internship. Their professor, a seasoned expert in child psychology, is also on hand to provide individual counseling sessions.
This support is crucial in helping the children heal from their past experiences of neglect, abandonment, and abuse. As part of their healing process, the children are encouraged to journal their stories and share their feelings in a safe, loving Christian environment.
Our staff and counselors are deeply invested in making Summer Camp a transformative experience for every child. They not only work tirelessly to provide care and support, but also enjoy every moment they spend with the children. The bond that forms during camp is truly special and contributes significantly to the children’s healing and growth.
However, we are facing some challenges this year. Inflation has caused prices to skyrocket, not only here in the States but across Europe as well. Mariana recently shared that the prices of gas and food have been increasing daily in Romania, exacerbated by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
In spite of these challenges . . . we are committed to bringing 200 children to camp this year!
Thanks to your generous support, we have been able to secure the funds necessary to cover the costs for the first . . . 100 children. I cannot thank you enough for making this possible.
But our work is not done. We still need to ensure that the remaining . . . 100 children . . .can experience the magic of Summer Camp.

• Summer Camp: Your gift of $40.00 will send a child to Summer Camp for one day. It will cost . . . $280.00 to send a child to Summer Camp for one week.
• Summer Clothes for Children: Your gift of $70.00 will provide t-shirts, shorts, tennis shoes, and bathing suit for a child.
• Essential needs: Your gift of $55.00 will enable us to continue to provide a package of essential items for a child/family containing food, medicine, and hygiene items.
