Help Us Bring the Joy of Easter to Romania’s Vulnerable Children!

As Easter approaches, we are reminded of the hope and renewal this season represents. Yet, for many struggling families in Romania, this time of year is filled with uncertainty, as they struggle to afford even basic necessities. Inflation in Romania has made life even harder, driving up the cost of food, clothing, and everyday essentials. Families already living in poverty are now finding it nearly impossible to provide for their children.
One such family is the Dumitrescu family. Their young daughter is in the second grade. She is shy and hesitant, yet her mother dreams of giving her the chance to experience childhood joys like attending summer camp with other children. But right now, their biggest concern is simply making it through the day. They, like so many others, rely on The Village of Hope Romania for support.
Each year, we provide Easter packages to children like the Dumitrescus—children who would otherwise go without. Right now, we are preparing Easter boxes for 247 children, filled with:
• A Bible storybook to share God’s love
• A stuffed animal to bring comfort
• Spring clothing for the warmer months
• Food and hygiene essentials to help the family
• Easter treats to bring a moment of joy
These Easter packages do more than brighten a child’s day—they also help parents. Each package includes basic food supplies, hygiene items, and small essentials for the parents as well, ensuring that entire families receive the support they need. These gifts provide struggling mothers and fathers with a sense of dignity and relief, knowing their children will have something special to celebrate.
