THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

I’m sure, like many families, you have been preparing your children or grandchildren for the new school year. And that’s exactly what we are doing at our headquarters in Timisoara, Romania.
Eight-year-old B lives in a small town outside Timisoara with her mother, P, and her father, A. Their life is challenging! P is a housewife, and A works a low paying job, making it difficult to make ends meet. Despite their struggles, they are loving parents who are doing their best to care for B and provide her with the best life they can.
A SUCCESS STORY
The family currently lives in an abandoned railway house on the edge of Sosdea. But despite their challenging circumstances, these grandparents have provided a loving and safe environment for the children.
Last year’s Summer Camp was a life-changing event for the O children. They loved it so much that they asked to attend again this year. The joy on their faces when we said yes was indescribable. S, who missed out last year due to his age, joined us this time and thrived.
As we approach the end of summer, your generous, tax-deductible donations are more crucial than ever. Your support enables us to continue making an impact on the lives of children like M, G, and S.
We first met B and her family over a year ago, she was a shy girl who had never ventured far from home. Even then, we saw the potential in this hesitant, reserved little girl, and we encouraged her mother to consider sending her to our Summer Camp at The Village of Hope in 2023.
However, the thought of attending camp was overwhelming for B and her mother, given that she had never been away from home. But with patience, reassurance, and the promise of a safe, nurturing environment, P agreed to send B to camp in 2024.
I am thrilled to share that B finally attended our Summer Camp last month, and the transformation was incredible! From a shy, uncertain girl, B blossomed into a joyful and confident child, forming new friendships and discovering her strengths in ways that would not have been possible at home. This experience as truly been life-changing for her, offering a glimpse of the possibilities that lie beyond her current circumstances.
The new school year begins the week of September 16 and your donation this month can help us provide school clothes, shoes, backpacks, and essential school supplies, ensuring that these children can start the school year with confidence and dignity.
