At The Village of Hope Romania, we are called not only to care for children and families but to protect the vulnerable from real danger.

Across Romania, many young people are lured by what seem like real opportunities—jobs abroad, steady income, a better future. But too often, those promises are lies.

Recently, we helped bring home a young man who had been taken abroad under false pretenses. Instead of work, he found himself trapped—isolated and exploited. His captors took one of his kidneys and sold it. When he was able to escape, he was physically weak and emotionally destroyed.

Cases like this are not rare. They are part of a growing pattern where vulnerable young people are targeted and manipulated with little chance to protect themselves.
