I want to share the story of the Popescu family—a family facing overwhelming hardship but holding on to hope for a better future.
Adriana and Florin Popescu left Romania years ago, believing that working abroad would provide them with stability and opportunities for their children. Instead, they faced financial struggles, unstable jobs, and the harsh reality that their dreams would not come true. With nowhere else to turn, they returned home with nothing, moving in with Florin’s parents to avoid being homeless with their two sons, Raul (8) and Stefan (4).
Now back in Romania, Adriana and Florin do whatever they can to provide for their family, but without steady work, they can barely afford basic necessities. Their home is small and overcrowded, and they rely on day labor to put food on the table. Still, they are grateful that Raul and Stefan have been re-enrolled in school and kindergarten—a chance for them to build a brighter future.
Every year, The Village of Hope Romania provides Easter packages to children like Raul and Stefan—children whose families struggle to afford even the most basic essentials. Right now, we are preparing Easter boxes for 247 children, filled with a Bible storybook, a stuffed animal, spring clothing, and special Easter treats.
